We are packing up the van with our exhibition stand, banners and literature and off to The Barbican in the heart of London for this years DC Summit South. Having been to the Manchester event earlier this year, we are looking forward to another line up of knowledgeable and inspiring speakers and meeting clients and colleagues throughout the day.

The speaker line up is a mix of topics from DC infrastructure and the benefits of modular, to the future of data centres in a world where Cloud is a hot topic. In particular, we have diarised the entertaining talk by John Laban who’s presentation is entitled: Screws, screws, screws and why we do what we do in data centres today?

A┬áhumorous, innovative and interactive presentation questions fundamentally what we do today in enterprise data centres and how ‘Design Thinking’ is the way forward. Being designers as well as DC builders, we are hoping that we are already well on the way to implementing John’s suggestions and ideas from tomorrow.

The other slot we are hoping to attend is by Tony Day and focuses on how businesses can economically grow their on premise infrastructure, in particular looking at businesses who have adopted micro data centres to resolve the issue of growth. We regularly are asked by customers about future growth and how to plan for it upfront. Fortunately our modular data centres are perfect for expanding quickly and easily, even more so when this has been considered as part of the initial build. It may be that for some clients an additional ‘ModCel’ or containerised data centre could be the solution? We look forward to hearing what Tony thinks.

For those heading down to the event, we hope to see as many of you as possible – pop past for a coffee and a catch up!data centre summit logo south-crop-u157
