Inside a green data centre

The data centre project for leading UK Service Provider ‘Interoute’ has been completed in Kent and will facilitate additional fibre-connectivity links throughout the UK.

This 70 m² modular data centre is built on farmlands and is phase one of a three phase programme. This modular structure will allow for an extension POD to be added in the future to enable quick and cost effective expansion of the facility, minimising disruption of services within the existing room.

The current room houses 28 cabinets and includes raised access flooring, suspended ceiling, air conditioning, power and fire suppression with full generator backup.

This unusual farmland location made for an interesting project with muddy fields in the dead of winter making delivery logistics very tricky together with the need to work carefully and considerately around local livestock!!!!  The data centre is finished in green to be sympathetic to its farmland surroundings
