Data Centre Cooling

Data Centre cooling and server room cooling options are many and varied. Secure IT Environments has the experience to advise you on the right solution for your modular data centre requirements whether that is: traditional chilled water air conditioning, cold aisle containment, DX or increasingly popular free cooling options that allow for significant reductions in energy usage.

Rear door coolers and In-row cooling systems are also available for standard and high density applications.

Fresh air make-up air systems replace the air that is expelled by a building's exhaust system, maintaining the proper balance between inside and outside air pressures of a modular data centre, while providing conditioned replacement air.

Indirect Adiabatic and evaporative modular data centre cooling options are increasingly being considered as alternatives to traditional cooling methods. This system utilises indirect air to air heat exchange techniques, this system uses only outside ambient air and water to cool data centre solutions using a natural and low carbon philosophy.

TThe heat exchange matrix is optimised for all year round data centre design environmental control. Water is introduced into the system to achieve design conditions in higher temperature external ambience. Overall annual energy savings using this system can be up to 95% of comparable old technology systems allowing overall PUEs of below 1.1.

Latest Projects
Northampton NHS Trust
Northampton General Hospital wanted to become more energy efficient enabling it to increase capacity and start to future proof the data centre infrastructure for the increased demands of modern computing. The project was for a 2nd data centre rather than replace the existing  DC as it is in constant use.
Queen Elizabeth Hospital
The new data centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kings Lynn was designed to house the authorities core network switches, servers and storage along with the local passive LAN cabling which would leave room for future expansion and capacity.
Guys & St. Thomas NHS Trust
Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Trust used available space in their underground car park for their new external modular data centre. This project, complete with full infrastructure was built to ensure maximum security due to the facility being open to the public and with flood proofing due to the close proximity to the River Thames.
